Most people play World Chef on their phones and tablets but you can also play it on your PC. You might want to be able to play your game while sat at your desk, on a bigger screen, or to manage another game account. Although the game only runs on the iOS and Android platforms there are software ‘emulators’ available, the main ones being Andy and BlueStacks.
Both are quite capable of running World Chef but I will explain the process of using Andy here. Andy is compatible with Windows 7/8.1/10 and is free to download and simple to use!
First go to www.andyroid.net and click the download link at the top of the page. The installer will automatically start to download. It’s about 430mb in size so might take a minute or two on a slow connection. Once downloaded, run the installer by clicking on it.
Once the installer starts, follow the instructions (including being patient.. it can take a few minutes). The App will auto-run after install so you will be greeted with a blank Android home screen which you might recognise from your mobile device.
Firstly, as this is basically a new Android device (being emulated on your PC) you will need to assign it to a Google Account, either your existing one or a new account which you can create right here.
Click on the Google Store icon in the bottom right corner. You will be prompted to sign in so follow the instructions. Once that’s done you will be taken to the Google Play Store, shown here.
Click in the search box at the top where it says “Google Play” and type in World Chef.
Choose the game (top of the results) to see the store page where you can click on Install and Accept. After that, you’re good to go!
Click on Open or from the desktop screen look for the World Chef icon in the Games folder. Clicking this will open up the game in its full size glory!
There are a couple of hoops you now need to jump through though. Firstly, the game forces you to complete the short tutorial again before the settings menu is made available, so you have to do that. Once complete the game will auto login to your Google account and if you already had a game on your Android device it will allow you to import it from the cloud and continue with your existing game. In this case it will then be synchronised each time you play the game on either device.
If you are using iOS for your current game then the same thing will happen for you when you log in to Facebook. Just click on the Community icon bottom left and then click the Facebook Connect logo. Logging in to Facebook will then show your friends in your friend list too.
That it, you are all set to play World Chef on your desktop PC. If you run into any trouble, there is a very good help section on the Andy website, or you could try asking for help in our discussion forums.
